10/05/2009

October 5-9, 2009 Philadelphia, PA

The first four day workshop is planned for the Retooling Professional track of the RWJF Evaluation Fellowship. Over the course of the first workshop series fellows will gain:

  •  A practical approach to evaluation or what evaluation is and how it is used,
  • An understanding of culturally competent evaluation,
  • Practical experience developing a theory of change (TOC),
  • An understanding of how a TOC can be used to frame culturally competent evaluation,
  • Insights into identifying reasonable, culturally-relevant evaluation methods,
  • An understanding of how to analyze evaluation data,
  • Practical experience developing an evaluation plan.

Each fellow will develop a theory of change specific to their proposed evaluation project. Workshop participants should come prepared to get to know each others’ professional background, organizations, and planned evaluation projects. Everyone will have the opportunity to share what they bring in terms of cultural backgrounds to the work of evaluation.
