Evaluation Diversity Fellowship-Postsecondary Success Track

08/12/2011

The Application is now open for recent PhD’s and Master’s degree graduates in education to apply for a one-year evaluation training fellowship.

The Postsecondary Success Evaluation Fellows program seeks individuals interested in educational research in the postsecondary success field, from diverse backgrounds.

With support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, OMG Center for Collaborative Learning and Duquesne University School of Education have teamed up to offer the Postsecondary Success Evaluation Fellows program. The program aims to build diversity in the evaluation field by providing enriching one year work experiences and training in program evaluation to emerging professionals from groups historically underrepresented in the educational research discipline. Individuals from historically disadvantaged and underrepresented communities include US born ethnic or racial minorities, those from low-income communities, first-generation college graduates, or others who have been historically underrepresented in the program evaluation field. The program's ultimate goal is to infuse the social sector evaluation field with well-trained individuals from diverse backgrounds to provide culturally responsive perspectives to the increasingly diverse programs and communities that the profession serves.

The Postsecondary Success Evaluation Fellows program places fellows in educational evaluation and applied research organizations for a one-year, full-time fellowship. Organizations hosting fellows have been selected based on their established expertise and capacity in research and evaluation. As well, each has postsecondary research and evaluation projects underway, and employ experienced evaluation staff to mentor and coach the Postsecondary Evaluation Fellow. Fellows will receive a full-time, entry-level position in evaluation for one year, a competitive salary, and health coverage, and participate in training workshops four times a year with other fellows.
